At Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch we offer a riding program that is tailored to each rider. First of all, we do our best to make sure you are matched up with the appropriate horse – we want you to be comfortable with your horse and your ability to control the type of horse you are going to be riding. Secondly, we want you to be able to go on the type of ride you like.
On your first day you will enjoy a slow, scenic walking ride in the desert to let you get acclimated to your horse, our surroundings and saddle. The ride lasts for about 2 hours. For the safety of our guests and horses we have a maximum weight limit of 270 lbs (guests over 240 lbs are limited to a walking ride only)
For those guests staying 2 nights or longer you can enjoy exciting loping rides in the washes. Feel the wind flowing through your hair and the thrill of a fast ride like the cowboys in the day use to.
For those guests staying with us 4 nights or more you will head out on our popular Gold Mine Trail Ride. Here we go into the mountains and explore some long lost gold mines from back in the day.
Learn how to barrel race in our barrel racing arena just like they do at the rodeos. See if you have what it takes to become a professional barrel racer. Our team of experts will teach you how its done then compete against your fellow riders in a timed event. Fun for everyone!
Ride into the mountains and camp out overnight. Sleep under the stars in our beautiful pristine wilderness. Dinner and breakfast cooked over a campfire. Hear the coyotes howl at night, feel what it was really like to be a cowboy out here in the Arizona desert. Due to the harsh conditions of this horseback riding excursion it requires a minimum of 5 night stay at the ranch resort, is seasonal, extra fee applies, and the overnight pack trips must be booked ahead at time of reservation.
Our horseback riding program is second to none. Many people ask us, what sets you apart from other ranches? It is very simple, unlike most other ranches that have long trains of 20 or more guests, we keep our horse rides at 7 guests or less. This offers you an almost private ride to experience the true feeling of horseback riding. As soon as you leave the corral you will see nothing but beautiful desert scenery surrounded by cactus, Joshua Trees and mountain ranges. Located in the Mohave desert, our horseback riding ranch resort is an hour away from the nearest town, no city lights, no traffic, just the occasional road runner being chased by the occasional coyote. This is cowboy country, the Wild West, the way it was, the way it still is.
